Level 3: Pattern Work (Starts Nov 6)

Wednesday, Nov 20, 2024 @ 7:00 PM EST • $104.32 (includes fees)

Think of patterns in improv as a three-step dance. First, there's the Offer—a spontaneous idea that emerges from the void. Next comes the Set move, where you start shaping that idea into something specific. Finally, there's the Cement move, where the pattern solidifies into a direction that can be played with and heightened.

Class One: Working with Patterns
We'll dive into the art of making offers, setting ideas in motion, and cementing those patterns into something fun and repeatable.

Class Two: Personal Patterns
Explore how you naturally react to your surroundings and actions. For example: "I adore pizza; when I take a bite, I'm so happy I giggle uncontrollably."

Class Three: Scenic Patterns
We will focus on how you react to your scene partner (who they are, what they are doing, how your scene pattern is behaving). Example: Louisa is my idol; when she scolds me I get weeping and make fun of myself. OR We are all scared of bugs; when we see a bug we all gasps and run around.

Join us for a mini intensive with three classes, each three hours long. No performance pressure here—just a chance to explore and have fun. Wear comfortable clothes and sneakers so you can move freely.

You'll need Level 1 and Level 2 Improv experience to join. If you have questions or want to chat about whether this class is right for you, reach out to Brianne at [email protected]. Let's play with patterns together!
